AER Science and Dr Judah Cohen's seasonal forecasting work with focus on Arctic Oscillation and polar vortex disruptions is again featured in this article.   As we head into February with a weakening El Niño could it mean there are elevated chances for above-average snowfall in the eastern United States?  “If it stays strong and circular, it is mild for February,”  but if it stretches out, “we get episodes of more severe winter weather.”
