Dr. Arindam Samanta just got back from the AGU Fall Meeting. He had a great time at the meeting, which hosted some 20K people. He presented two posters and was second author on an invited talk that highlighted his most recent paper on the Amazon, which co-incidentally was accepted for publication in Journal of Geophysical Research-Biogeosciences this week. He also enjoyed judging 7 student presentations for the outstanding student presentation award. Last but not the least, Dr. Samanta was invited to a reception by Caltech, Tectonics Observatory that he had visited for a summer as undergraduate student back in 2005. Overall, the trip and the meeting were quite successful.
