This UCAR article summarizes the review of Arctic Oscillation research in Nature Geoscience that Judah Cohen and Jason Furtado co-authored in August 2014. It highlights the AER web page about forecasting the winter season by modeling snow cover. AER findings are a leading portion of a growing body of research which may encourage some organizations including the CPC to consider revising their winter outlook based on factors other than ENSO, i.e., Siberian snow cover.
