Cambridge, Massachusetts — In an effort to further strengthen their positions as premier providers of geophysical science research, development and support for government and industry, Atmospheric and Environmental Research, Inc. (AER) of Cambridge, MA and Computational Physics, Inc. (CPI) of Springfield, VA jointly announce the execution of a broad corporate Strategic Alliance. Combining AER's focus on meteorology, climate, air quality, and Earth surface phenomenology with CPI's focus on the upper and middle atmosphere, ionosphere and solar-terrestrial phenomenology, the allied companies jointly provide their customers with an end-to-end, full spectrum, geophysical sensor information simulation, analysis, and processing prediction capability that covers, "the mud to the sun".
The Strategic Alliance encompasses joint marketing and business development efforts spanning commercial, government and international markets. Each company will provide technical and scientific expertise in the pursuit of new opportunities while maintaining firewalls to ensure separation of existing competitive activities.
"Historically, AER and CPI scientific roles have contributed complementary capabilities to major national remote sensing programs. The alliance will continue that tradition while highlighting and exploiting our synergies to benefit customers", said Ron Isaacs, AER Senior Vice President
Dr. Strickland, President and CEO of CPI, said, "This is a very positive development given the similar cultures of AER and CPI focused on advancing the state-of-knowledge on a variety of fronts in atmospheric sciences from the troposphere to the high atmosphere. I expect the alliance to be very beneficial to current and future customers and to both companies."
